FC Sutton Dynamo
Sutton Dynamo are a community team, based in Sutton-At-Hone. We've been providing football to children of all ages and abilities since 1979. We develop young players and help them to reach their full potential both on and off the pitch
⚽ Our history
In 1979 five parents of the successful 'Sutton Harber Cubs' football team formed 'The Dynamos' and in this first season together they entered into the Bexley and District League which is where the Club remained until 2012 when a decision was made to swap over to the SELKent League.
The Parish Council generously gave the team the use of King George's Field which was converted into a pitch by parents and helpers after much hard work.
Sponsored walks and discos were arranged to raise the £500 needed to buy the necessary kit, equipment and changing shack. The organisers were rewarded by the great enthusiasm of the boys.
By 1980 the Club had grown to three teams and was run by a committee of twelve men and supported by a fund raising committee, which is very similar to the Club structure of today. The Parsonage Lane pavillion, which we still use to this day, was built by the Residents Association for use by FC Sutton Dynamo.
The Club colours originate from the donation of a signed Brazil football shirt.
The documentation held by the Club on its history is very limited and based mainly on memory from our older members! If there is anyone who has additional information on how the Club was formed, old team photos and/or memories of the Club please feel free to contact us as we would love to hear from you.
